Bob, a passionate artist, finds solace in painting purely for his own pleasure. Meanwhile, Julie leads a life of luxury as a wealthy socialite. They meet and fall in love, and before long, they are married and move into Bob's art studio apartment. Their friend Oscar keeps them company, creating a joyful and contented atmosphere, despite their financial struggles.
Everything changes when Bob catches the attention of the media, thrusting him into the spotlight. With a private exhibition, he swiftly becomes the talk of high society, and his priorities shift dramatically. The pursuit of money consumes him. However, neither Julie nor Oscar yearn for this kind of existence, as it robs them of the carefree joy once cherished.
